This is also the case in Denmark where SME's make up almost half of all joint stock companies and about 70% of all limited liability companies. The many owner-managed companies typically benefit greatly from the business coaching, knowledge and insight of a professional Board of Directors. The Board is a key partner for growth, for staying focused and in keeping direction. In addition, a professional Board can help open doors to new partners, customers or others, just as banks tend to look with quite different eyes at companies with strong Boards.
