About

I established Ditlev Consulting in 2003 to work with my passion: developing people, businesses and companies. I believe better business is created through better change and business development where "meaning" and "purpose" are bigger than just growth and bottom line. That's why I typically work with leaders, companies and organizations wanting to explore new paths to find the drivers for the business, consumers, customers and the organization.

I have 30 years of experience within management and leadership, strategic development, sales, internationalization and innovation – in Denmark and abroad.

Who are the customers?

My customers include both larger groups and small businesses in various industries, such as food, textiles, metals, logistics, retail and different types of services. Several customers have achieved Gazelle status – an award for fast and profitable growth – several times.

What I deliver to my customers?

I am a Leadership Trainer and Business Coach, Future Strategy Developer, Board Professional and Speaker. It all plays together. I work together with my customers; with leaders and employees, because this is the foundation for better and more resilient solutions – and definitely for ownership. I am not part of the organizations hierarchy and can act freely, objectively and neutrally. And I'm pretty good at challenging everyone – at all levels with challenging and relevant questions!

Which competences?

I have a solid business background from large corporations, SME's and start-ups. My background is international, including 4 years in Germany. But I do also have experience from various other countries in Europe, the United States and Australia. I master both English and German at professional negotiation level – and of course the Scandinavian languages.

I have a M.Sc. in Business Administration from Aarhus University, School of Business and Social Science (ex. Aarhus School of Business). For 30 years I have worked within leadership, strategy, business development, sales, internationalization and innovation and have, among other things, been in charge of companies, large business units with foreign subsidiaries as well as large sales organizations with P/L-responsibility for DKK 650+ million. Since 2005 I have been running my own company and worked in Boards. The heading was always to be innovative, to challenge "we usually do" as well as, of course, to secure concrete business results.

Speaker, moderator and columnist

Every year I give many keynotes and hold many workshops. I am also a solid moderator at conferences, major events etc.

I regularly write articles and blog posts, and am also a regular columnist in one of biggest Danish newsparpers and are used as an expert by the media, including DR/The Danish Public Broadcasting Company and Radio4.

Associate Professor, Mentor and Examiner

I am an Associate Professor at SDU-The University of Southern Denmark where I have developed the course "Business Development in an economic perspective" and teach "Change Management". I am also an external examiner in the Danish universities' Bachelor, Master and MBA-programmes.

For 10 years I was a mentor at Aarhus-School of Business and Social Science and received in 2012 the “Mentor Award” for my work (click here to see) nd in 2017 I received – as the one and only ever – a special “Mentoring Honorary Award” for 10 years of “incredible support and commitment” (click here to see)

External expert to the European Commission and International Expert to Enterprise Ireland

The European Commission has appointed me as one of its external experts, assessing, among other things, project proposals in the field of research and innovation. And since 2018, I have been an international expert for Enterprise Ireland.
